NC is famous for very unpredictable winters. No real use in leaving them locked all the time if all we get is one big storm in a padticular year. Also, we get more ice/freezing rain than anything else. My door was frozen shut a few weeks ago, kinda took me off guard until I saw the truck had an entire ice shell on it.

 

Got me a new knife today. Knives make me happy.

Can you tell that I really like Striders?

 

I’d do the later ADD that had an electronic motor instead of vacuum actuated. Much easier IMO since you don’t have to mess with vacuum lines.

 

Interesting design. What's their function?

 

I think I remember reading vacuum is more reliable but yeah I would want eletronic too. I believe my year came with J-shift & electronic ADD, not for sure on the electronic actuator part but that's what I want. But whatever, I'll think about all that if/when the time comes.

 

To slice things

 

Vacuum is more reliable because there’s not an electronic motor that could fail. The ADD motor on the diff could be submerged and subject to damage, while the VSV’s would be in the engine bay.

 

And thecircuit and equip is much simpler on the Vacuum one. If I was doing the most reliable truck build I could vacuum ADD and jshift case would be mandatory

Nah, haha I don't carry a knife like ever and could care less. But those are the ones I hear people saying good stuff about usually. My pockets have enough crap I don't need in them already

Idk, ive had plenty of luck with Gerber knifes. Hold their edge and haven’t broken on me yet. Alos they arnt stupidly expensive like some knifes

 

This is true, but typically for reliability with vacuum systems you want to pass through the least amount of bulkheads and have the least length possible. Although they made some nicer toggle style valves like those too.

 

If i had money sure. Im to broke for those lol
