Uh oh...

I done went and started restoring a shop tool again.

This is the pinnacle of restoration. I will be sandblasting the sandblaster.



First on the roster, replacing all of the dry rotted seals. According to the manufacture date on the pressure tank, it’s from 1994. Soaking all the seals in Goo-Gone.

 

That's similar to the ultimate in garage cleaning- Using Brake Clean to removal the label off a can of brake clean. Yes it works, and yes NHRA pit crew guys get really bored during rain delays haha.

 

I have California formula Brake Clean, so at worst it will inconvenience the label but not really do anything.

 

Haha true! I believe they call it windex in other states. We would stockpile the real stuff prior to Somona and Pomona races. Couldn't use it out in the pit of course. But what happens in the race trailer, stays in the race trailer.

 

Anyone know anything about direct pressure sandblaster setups? I’m trying to figure out how the PO set this cabinet up.

No idea what’s going on here.

Can this day just be over now, I have to go get my trailer to move beds around. I'm already tired.

 

Can someone do me a quick favor? I need the dimensions of the square cutout that is to the right of the cup holders in 01-04 models. There should be a little thing that pops out if you can get a good enough grip. (I can provide a pic if it's too confusing) The reason I need one is because I plan on making a plastic piece that I can put 2 switches on (the switches came in today), but my truck is getting a dent fixed at a shop this week. Thanks.

 

I just need the dimensions of the outer rim of it.

 

I'm not sure which exact model has them. I just remembered that my brother's '02 didn't have them either.

Another question, what's the best way to connect the wires from a wiring harness (I would cut the wires from the provided switch) to a switch like this? Some kind of crimp or should I solder them?

I use crimp-on connectors for this type of switch. something similar to these:

For what purpose? I use crimp connectors.

 

Using them for an led pod switch setup. I went ahead and got some crimp connectors from my local hardware store.
