Broke in the new gun yesterday up on the hill, found some snow, and sent the truck down some hill climbs at the gravel pit.

No it's a 270wsm. It's just a cheapo redfeild scope I had laying around till I can pick up a vx5 or conquest hd. I'm a ziess fan personally but the are spendy. For a ar I'd just buy a quality red dot. I've got open sites on mine.

I can't stand vortex scopes. They just seem inferior, I'm not sure why everyone has a hard-on for them. All my buddies run em. They are decent for the money though.

My leopold warranty is pretty good. Though 500$ for a scope it better come with a good warranty

Diamondback tactical is on my want list. But my redfield revolution does fine for now.

Vortex will replace it no questions asked.
I like mine but don’t shoot often, I don’t think I’ve shot a gun for like the last year

$500 is still cheap for a good scope.

I'm not a competition shooter, I look for different things in scopes than those guys. Every vortex I've picked up hasn't been very good in low light situations and the eye releif window is tiny which makes it hard to shoot from multiple positions comfortably. My strikeagle won't hold a zero for it's life. They have great warranty... To each his own. Most of those guys are sponsored, I'm not

Are you looking at the cheaper ones or the Viper PST, Razor etc? They have their cheap line too. Once you get above the $1k mark they are trully awesome.

X4 zoom, plain crosshairs and good to 100yd was all I wanted. But I wanted a nice quality scope

I've looked through both, but mostly the cheaper line ones. I haven't tested the real expensive ones out in the field because I've always had great luck with Zeiss and luepold. If I'm going to spend $1000 on a scope of rather go with what I know will be a good scope instead of trying a brand that I already have bad experiences with. Not saying they are all bad scopes, I just prefer the tried and true.
