Well I went and revived the old 1964 Chevy 3/4ton this morning. I want it, but I really don't need it so if you know someone that would want this beautiful old beast send them my way and I'll get them in touch with the sweetest old lady who owns it.

Started the day by buying 10 gals of clean fuel and bringing some empty tanks to siphon the old fuel into. Boy was I glad we didn't let the carb suck this stuff down, it was gross!

    [IMG]0116190947 by Zane, on Flickr

Poured a ton of new 89 in the tank, looked for ethanol free but no luck around these parts unless you want super high test 100-110 octane leaded. But I poured a little cups worth down the float bowl breather as well to fill the bowl and bam, she lit off and idled within 15 seconds on her own. Smoked like hell for a good 5mins and settled down to a light puff afterwards (gonna need rings I suspect). Seemed to have a traveling misfire by my feel and a bit of a rocker tick so I've got it scheduled for a full tuneup at the beginning of February. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, ignition coil, valve train adjustment, and oil/filter. And I said I would also give the engine a mini detail as well since she's looking to sell. That way it is clean for showing although it's mostly just dust and road grime anyway, doesn't seem to leak much oil which is surprising.

    Here are some pics...

She's a friend of a coworker. Her husband passed from dementia in 2016 and this truck had been sitting since 2015 when he had gotten to where he couldn't even work on it anymore (he hadn't been driving it since a bit before that but loved to tinker still)

I'm thinking if someone offered her in the neighboorhood of 12-15k she'd take it immediately. But after I tune it up she is going to have a local collector come and appraise it. It may end up in the Mecum auction if my estimate is way off and it is over 20k.
