How do you know any of that was installed right. The head studs and heads gaskets mostly.

I know the torquing procedures and sometimes torque change when you go to studs.

The factory head bolts are weak enough to stretch and even allow the head to lift with even blowing out the gasket. I'll take chance that the studs were done correctly

Yeah that sounds about right haha. Well the ARP hardware is always top notch won't lift with that setup if there's enough studs holes.

I need less flaky friends...doing a new trail tomorrow and this is the 3rd time in a row this dude has flaked on me, this time the night before no less. Grrr

Luckily still have another member I'm meeting up with so the trip is still a go. Not too keen on doing new-to-me trails solo.

The Buick boys fight headlight lift... so they have plates that bolt the head to the block... seem to work good

The 4 bolt LS blocks fight it too around 28psi with the 1/2 ARP head studs. The 6 bolts are good to way more luckily, but they're more expensive as well as their heads.

I’m hoping I don’t have any head lift issues. Shouldn’t. Head studs with the 5vz should be pretty damn stout.. 8 of them per head and 11X1.5mm bolts

I hadn't planned on it but I don't think we have any plans next weekend so, it's a possibility.

I'll talk to the wife and see if she's up for it...in a couple weeks were headed up to Tahoe for 5 days and taking my truck because of the snow out that way, so after this weekend I might hold off on anything until after that trip...Tahoe is a solid 7 hour drive from home not counting the snow conditions so I need to factor that in lol. Gas prices have gone down lately but the truck is still a thirsty beast.
