Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
This. If your buying a used trans just check the fluid. If it doesn’t look fucked chances are your safe. Pull the pan. Drain the Tc. Replace filter and gasket. Put together and put fresh fluid in

I've done a mod or two
95% of the time that won't be the case. I actually can't come up with how it happened to yours. The 4cyl barely makes enough power to turn it let alone bend it. Plus you'd think you'd see the broken plate on the donor vehicle. Did you drop it on the ground at some point?

My theory is maybe donor car was in a front end collision and somehow inertial energy sent force to warp the TC. I never dropped it.

I also purchased this transmission from a full service scrapping yard. They already had the transmissions on shelves and I have no idea how it was handled between the donor truck and me.

Forgive him, he doesn’t know as much about engines and suspension as he would lead you to believe. The rest of a car he knows though lmao

AFR gauge won't prevent you from running lean, it allows you to monitor your AFRs so you see if you are running lean (our rich) or not

Or you go off if your engine smells like a refinery for rich or someone through marbles in the engine for lean

That was how I used to do it lol. But you can still be running a little rich or lean without blatant obvious signs.

Sometimes I downshift to 2nd and coast into a parking lot. It's really hard to downshift into 1st unless I'm basically stopped. It is better since I switched to Redline and I'm probably due for another change but it's always been that way

I figured it was some cranky bearings since I can't really pinpoint the noise

Yeah I never downshift into 1st really...I've driven around parking lots in 2nd going real slow which does lug it a bit, but haven't gotten any pinging doing that...do you also get pinging going WOT? try filling up with premium next time and see if it goes away
