Good advice. I talked to the family tax guy and he said as long as I didn’t get a W2, I’m good.

That sounded like a bunch of B.S. to me, so I should probably go find an income tax place.

He's probably implying that since you didn't make very much (compared to most companies pulling in 100sK+ profits) that the IRS will just ignore you or let you slide, which they might...I've heard of that happening. But it's not good advice to operate on and it's exactly what I assumed would happen that first year I freelanced and they came back for me almost 3 years later.

Although if you are an all-cash business with no paperwork, w2s or 1099s or anything like that, I could see you getting away with it...but if they do catch you then they will come down on you hard.
