Yeah they seem a bit sketch. Seatbelts save lives though.

    I have two airbags!

I do like that shelf that the 95-97 trucks have though.

How much was the seatbelt? Mine doesn’t really retract that well anymore.

It retracted fine, I didn’t realize how much resistance the original seatbelt had until I replaced it. When I first put the new Seatbelt for the first time, I actually hit my chest so hard with it because I’m used to yanking it so hard.

I had to feed mine back too. That plus the slightly ripped webbing is why I decided to replace it.

I think it was around $130 shipped from ‘ol Gary at Camelback Toyota.

Yours is probably more expensive. Toyota added the SRS explosive pretensioner into the Seatbelt assembly sometime in 1999/2000. Mine didn’t have it so it’s cheaper.

Our seatbelts utilize a sort of movement/position type of seatbelt pretensioner. If you move a certain way it’ll lock, mimicking what happens in a crash. With the explosive pretensioner when the SRS system detects a crash and deploys the airbags, it also deploys an explosive charge to lock the seatbelts faster than the aforementioned one can handle. It also stays locked unlike the traditional one.
