    Me too...we had a "career day" at school and one of my classmates had a dad there that was in the Air Force...he told me straight to my 8 year old face that because I wore glasses I would never be an Air Force pilot. Apparently back then you needed to be born with perfect or near perfect vision, but I've heard that nowadays you can get by with laser surgery. Back then it was still too new of a procedure and wasn't trusted.

    My dreams were crushed and I resolved to become a menace to society from that point on

    Yeah, I got told the same thing I thought submarine would be cool. Until I looked up some specs like bunk dimensions as well as door and halls and made a makeshift sub out of plywood. At the age of 14 it wasn't too bad but at age 18 I realized it wasn't going to work lol.
