I have been having some bad luck with carrier bearings

 

You should read up on a one peice first. I hear they arnt really that great to swap to on a tacoma

 

It's gotta be new oem driveline or rebuilt oem shaft with oem parts. Or you'll be frustrated with it for a long time likely

 

Wait you actually used flex seal. I thought you used something that was made for automotive use

 

Yes 2004 v6 and I'll make a thread.
Manual hubs but keeping the ADD working.
Also converting non manual spindles to manual.

 

Why keep the ADD. Well when I'm at my place up north the need for 4x4 constantly changes in the small community. I'll lock the hubs in while there. (Speeds never greater then 40mph) Then just go in and out of 4x4 with front axle engagement and transfer case. When I hit the highway to come home I'll unlock the hubs transfer case in 2wd and disengage ADD

I get a new driveshaft for free. But had to turn the busted one in exchange.

 

Replace their crappy carrier bearing while you’re at it.

 

Lol no cause if it fails again I get another shiny new one lol

 

Wonder what caused it to fail in the first place.

Also I’m surprised they just keep 1st Gen drivelines in stock at your local store.

 

They don't gotta wait a week for it to be built

 

As of reason why it failed Dan thinks they over tighten it and the added resistance made it heat up and melt the rubber.

I'm like Tyler *horrified face* I got to drive in 4x4 so it's a fwd tacoma

 

Eh, there’s some quality carrier bearings out there.

And they aren’t hard to change.

 

Letting him learn bad habits already haha
