    @BartMaster1234

    When Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection goes bad, almost the same failure mode as the L-Jetronic based system my years of Z could have happen

    Bosch L and K Jetronic systems are pretty early systems. Instead of a typical modern fuel rail that the injectors seal into with an o-ring these injectors have a hose barb at the top and that puts a bit of pressure where the plastic electronic parts are pressed into the metal injector casing. That joint is sealed with an o-ring that is exposed to fuel constantly and because these systems are old they aren't ethanol compatible and the modern fuel wears that ring out while the hose joint at the top stresses that joint. They end up leaking fuel from the injector body and a hot engine bay makes short work of the car at that point. Fire starts... Poof! That's why even though my injectors were fine in my Z, I replaced them anyway. Also the same reason I'll be changing to aluminum fuel rails and mustang injectors that are modern very soon.

    Lol Everytime you talk about the stuff that goes on at your job it ends up sounding like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I guess that keeps it exciting right?
