This is more an activity you do with a die grinder and sanding wheels and maybe a burr. Blasting would take forever for the smoothing internally.

 

For the mating surface where the gasket goes, how would I tackle that?

I have really nice die grinder bits but a really shitty die grinder, still haven’t replaced my Horror Fraud one that lasted five minutes.

I bought a nice set from Grainger.

 

Buy a gasket, match it over the bolt holes and sand away at the port holes until their edges are the same as the gasket, the castings are rough and the holes are smaller than the gasket and head holes right now.

are the 3rz gaskets metal? if they are it helps to install it with paint and it'll leave a mark where the gasket crushes too
