I'm not planning on weight in the back. I have my 4runner for wheeling. This is just another rig that I can dump my IRA funds into. lol

Cool. I'm in no rush but rebuilds are easy enough as long as the shafts aren't toast.

Yeah the Dakars are basically a lifted version of an OEM pack in that they'll hold about as much weight as the stock leaf packs will, but you should get a 2 - 2.5" lift out of them.

My mistake was trying to use them to hold a bed rack, tent and few hundred lbs of camping gear and 10 gallons of extra fuel. Made them ride on the bump stops when it was fully loaded like that

    They definitely need rod ends

Are the rod ends replaceable on Kings? I haven't really checked to see if they are, I thought it was built into the body of the shock but I could be wrong.

Actually looking at pics of them it looks like they could be replaceable

Sounds like it's time to 4 link that bitch and put a 4runner axle under it with OME 861's. They ride great with or without weight. Unloaded I've got 4" of lift from them. Fully loaded(300lbs or so) they settle about 1/2".

Lower rod ends on the shafts yes, I don’t know about the upper body thing.

I read they’re a bitch to get off the shaft though

Rod ends and shafts are all replaceable. It's not that hard to do. I bent my passenger front shaft on the Dusy last year and rebuilt the coilover with a new shaft. King didn't do shit for me so that kinda pissed me off. Here's the offending shaft.

That makes sense, I was thinking more of the lower eyelet on the shock body because if memory serves, that's the part that got broken on @JKO1998 s coilovers when his spherical bearings grenaded.

I'm curious to the pics again now, I vaguely remember when you posted them awhile back

Pics from the Dusy or pics of the bent shafts on the rig? That trip was a bitch. I broke 4 CV's because I bent my front diff mounting arms, rear mount, and ADD tube. I still finished the trail and drove home 300 miles. lol
