They do come in Manual. Those are priced up the wazoo though, easily 2x the value of the auto counterpart.

I'm not sure. In 10 years of ownership I never had to touch the engine or drivetrain.

What would it take to do a manual swap, is that transmission on any other domestic Toyota?

 

Mine was 2wd so I never bothered to look into it. It's probable the 80's pickups used the same trans and t-case as the manual vans. Get on the site I linked and ask. It's probably more hastle then it's worth though.

Some guys aren't so lucky and feel the constant pressure from their SO to have their approval of purchases. I've had friends who's SO even seeks out his receipts and then brow beats him over the purchase prices. It's pathetic honestly. She's a nice person too but seriously when it comes to outgoing expenses of any sort she runs the show. Despite him having a bachelor's in finance and making more than 3 times her monthly salary. She purchases a lot more items for herself too than he does. But he's always had a sort of meek personality so I suppose this will forever be his cross to bear haha. I think if he even just put his foot down to the financial snooping she does it would solve the problem.

I'd never put up with it, I don't want to be a prisoner in my own house haha

 

My GF's only rule is. Are the bills paid? Yes? Go have fun lol
