1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

Im playing truck dentist today. No cavities yet, but scuffed it down and adding a protective layer just in case.

 

I think the older trucks windows open wider, pretty positive actually

A little prescription of Rust-oleum and problemo solved. Will follow up with fluid film in a few weeks.

 

I couldnt get it scuffed down as far as Id like, but I got the bulk of it. Time will tell I guess. I used rustoleum rusty metal primer along with their oil based black paint. Should last a good long while. My dad coated the 92 in that paint 15 years ago, and its just now starting to get yellow/orange spots in places.

So I'm not too thrilled with having removed the fender flares, the more I look at it the more I realize that without the flares my tires stick out a good 2" and they're going to fling all kinds of rocks crap at the sides of my truck when I'm wheeling.

I dig the look but it just doesn't seem practical for 4x4'ing. I don't want to put the stock flares back on because they're beat to hell and don't look great where I cut them to stop the rubbing.

Looking at other options but it pretty much just seems like Bushwhacker is the only real one, at $430 for a full set they are pricey. Found one other OE style option but looks kind of bland. I like the Bushwhackers but $$$ ouch

Anyone know of any other aftermarket options?

 

I've had my eye out for some bushwhacker clones but I don't think they exist. I have a hard time wanting to spring for the real deal when I'm going to break them on a rock or tree anyways

They're half price of the Bushwhackers though and I could aways put bedliner over them

 

Buy them, have someone make fiber glass molds out of them, and then make more out of glass.

 

We color matched a set of bushwackers for my friends T100, made them look factory.

 

yeah it's looking like the Bushwhackers are the way to go, just gonna have to fork out the money eventually.
