Oh you can buy those too, they're just too damn expensive. I priced some out and the Unistrut was 1/6 the price.

I wouldn't trust all that weight that produces a constant lateral force, just sounds like a bad idea. The top of the rails are plenty stronger since you're applying downwards force on the inner bed construction as well as the bedsides.

Me thinks you're overthinking everything regarding your bed rack/camper shell/tent project. Time to buy a welder and build all this crap yourself exactly how you want it.

It's frontrunner bud. You think they would actually sell a mount kit option without engineering the hell out of it?

Personally, I like their gear but in this case I'd go the route of bed rack. So many options in terms of what you can mount to it.

Seriously though, you should still own one. When I wanted sliders, I knew I wanted 100% bolt on, no drill, which nobody makes for our trucks at a reasonable price. So I bought a welder and a few weeks later I had what I wanted. Ended up getting rid of them, but I saved the drawings should I ever decide I want them back.

That can't be a real barn, it's not painted bright red with white accents and a hay loft.

The hell do ya keep in there?

I justified the $800 upfront by totalling up how much a set of sliders and rear bumper would cost me if I bought them pre built. It was about double what the welder cost, which left tons of room for material cost. In the end, it was worth it, especially since I built my rear bumper from $150 worth of scrap metal & drops, also including paint and hardware.
