2 of them were burning oil at around 140k (excessively.) one was losing coolant (cracked cylinder) and the other spun a bearing because race truck

 

Over tighten the cams (only if they're OEM, the cheapo other brand ones aren't strong enough and will Waller out) and do the TC gussets. It helps. But what would really make the Toyota IFS great is some heimed inners so you don't need cams.

 

He's only built one Mopar engine. But multiple times lol

 

Excessive oil burning! Lame, maybe the quality is dropping.

 

Dude my tundra took a hell of a beating on the left front control arm area. The arm is slightly bent. The cam was shoved all the way back. But the spindle is fine.. those spindles are pretty stout even though they don’t look it

 

Yep, I do have a little clearance. However I had to add some spider tracks to keep them from rubbing on my uca’s. But 4 chains and low range I can plow snow with the grill.

 

All the car company’s burn oil. It’s the damn 0w-20 they use.


And now the new Toyota 4 bangers use 0w-16!

 

Yeah I used to be terrified every time I'd hit something a little harder than I intended to thinking for sure I'd fucked my spindle, but those tiny things are still holding true. One of these days I'll upgrade but it's nowhere near the top of the list right now

 

I need to gusset the cam tabs on. The tundra. The one is bent. Only issue is total chaos doesn’t make any. Might have to diy

 

Was just about to mention the TC cam tab gussets. Mine have proven a good investment. With that said the stock ones were laid down flat on the drivers side.

 

Or just worn out bushings.. I mean that’s a issue people seem to forget

 

I guess as long as you have a clean straight landing you're more likely to be okay lmao. I don't ever intend on seeing air with my truck...if I want that I'll get my pilots license and fly a plane

 

Yeah, then you just make the cross member a normal bolt hole to hold the heim and adjust their rod end length to align the LCA.

 

I can put a older taco on a. Alignment rack and get different camber specs just by moving the truck and rerolling it.. people really forget about the bushings.

Once you've do e it, with solid suspension mind you, and you feel the smoothness of the landing after a couple seconds of air you'll want to keep doing it

When I first got my truck (16), I jumped it a few times with the old danahos... was fun.. alignment was fine too. Even on a old ass rusty frame with 270k on it
