1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I'll be doing another write-up about bumps and measuring for those. But short and sweet, you gotta see how much they compress too and account for that when you set the height of the mounts. I'm almost done making my new bump mounts. I used my cruiser and a floor jack to see how far they compress before lifting the entire weight of one side of the cruiser.

 

ah didnt think of that lol was thinking use a 6 ton press just to over do it really. measure the height as they sit and measure when i cant compress much more.

 

You could do that, just be careful you can easily go too far and most will tear apart

I got my 32" spare under bed initially but it barely fit....I think if you went 33 you'd have to bend the brackets a little. I just put mine in my bed ultimately, strapped to the bed rack underneath it.

If you need atf which means you have a auto then you dont got a clutch lol

 

Well they should come on as a part of the self test in the on position but without the engine started. Some won't I suppose you could take the bulbs out and try to light them up with a 9v and a couple alligator leads.

 

He has lots of clutches, that's how autos work

 

Your gauge cluster odometer says that your blinker made your auto trans fluid run low which burnt the clutch on your manual....I think I'm following

I don't know if that on illuminates as a test, I think it is a really stupidly simple circuit that is literally only ever triggered by the temp switch in the trans, doesn't even go through the computer.

 

Yeah but they dont burn up like a manual and make a bad smell. They burn the atf

 

I changed the trans of a Grand Cherokee once where it was all you could smell, burnt ATF and metallic clutches. Horrible, way worse than gear oil.

I bet, sounds nasty lol
But my point was jamesboy burnt up some of his atf if he smelled something
Unlike you just wearing down your clutch from it slipping

 

Damn you guys like to talk haha. Over 20 pages since this morning.... Usually I try to read through everything, but in this case I'd have to clear my schedule for the entire day tomorrow haha.
