I'm 6 fingers deep into a bottle of Irish whisky

 

Im way deeper then then tgat in beer i had in the parking lot

 

I've been doing it off experience, seeing what works and what doesn't.

Painting your truck is something I'd save for the pros honestly. I looked into it, and I don't have the tools, equipment, or manpower to do something like that. A fender or a panel is fine, but when you get to a whole vehicle it'll never look perfect unless you have the right equipment and technique.

Why are you drinking beer in a parking lot..? I haven't done that since I was 18 and we drank beer out of McD's cups with straws

 

You've never tailgated at a game before?

 

Actually....no I haven't surprisingly, lol. Only sport I'll watch is hockey and it's not really a tailgating sport, unless you're in Canada or maybe the northeast.

 

I was picturing Miguel with a tall can of Steel Reserve in a paper bag on the street corner outside of a liquor store in Oakland, that kind of parking lot drinking.

Painting is all in the preparation. Every single imperfection will show, and the clear coat will magnify it.

The reason why I prefer a body shop to do it is because they have a clean booth with a good filtration system. Matching something like that in your garage is difficult. Little specs of dust, insects, pollen, etc will land on your finish. Also they have the ability to bake paint. That infrared curing lamp I bought for painting my horns is used in series in a both, usually six or more. Can't really do that at home.

Point being, yeah: totally possible to paint your truck at home. But I'm too particular about certain things like paint, and that's the kind of things I'd leave to a professional.

 

If you look at the stadium complex on Google Maps, you can actually see where they store the unused bleachers in the parking lot during Baseball Season.
