I'm getting to the point where the f250 is almost ready to be drive able, so once I'm there I'll probably sell the Yaris and daily that for a while til I figure my shit out.

The Yaris is ok but it was an impulse buy when I was in a funk and frustrated with the Tacoma

Hahaha I'm flattered youd think I'm strong but I'm really not.

I stick to barbell stuff, maybe some free weights or kettlebell mixed in. Landmine press, military press, deadlift (rdl and sumo before wrecking my knee), bench etc

Dude if you know to do presses (not bench stuff) than I know you're a lifter. Bench wreaks havoc on rotator cuffs... Overhead barbell press became my thing man. I wanted to be able to put two plates(225)up over my head so bad but only made it to 205 and then quit lifting(life changes)I got my bodyweight up to like 195.
I keep saying I'll start back up. I lost all my weight and now a little skinny sissy, 160 lbs and getting tired of it lol
Hearing strong people talk about their lifting gets my hyped and motivated, I gotta star up again. Took me 2 years to get to that point last time, that was 6 years ago now. Damn time flies

Yeah, it can be super easy to fall out. I was doing 3 big days a week last year and slowly fell off to lifting 1x a week :(

I scored a squat rack for free and am hoping to grab a barbell, bench, and some plates to kick off my home gym. My buddy and his son expressed some interest in learning barbell lifts with me as well

    Part
of my procrastination has been the 15+ minute drive to/from the gym now that I have an hour commute as well...

The good news is even just doing some basic barbell lifts a few times a week can really help you build strength quick even if your diet isn't in order. I especially got lazy with beer last year and it's really easy to consume an extra 400-1000 calories a day with 2+ craft beers :homer:

I use the bench press 3x a week for years, since my early 20s...now that you mention it lately it's been hurting my shoulders a lot. Figured I needed to start warming up more. I didn't know it was bad on the rotator cuffs...

After this discussion I chugged some preworkout and a protein shake and headed to the gym. Surprisingly almost empty save for a couple doing bicep curls in a squat rack :homer:

I deleted the muffler on the powerstroke and it sounds really good when you're on the throttle but is quiet while cruising. If I hate it while towing I'll put a small muffler back on

Word brother. Word. I even have a power cage... Sitting in my storage. I HAVE to go get it and f***ing just quit being a bitch and get it done. I had a cage and barbell and weights before at home and then I put them in storage and never set it back up. I will now. I need you to ask me how the big 3 are going. Squat, deadlift, press.
System that worked amazingly for little scrawny me was the 5x5 deal. I forget his name. I don't care what I look like I just wanna be f***ing strong af again. I'mma do it man

Hell yeah, 5x5 is a great way to build actual functional strength and feel great :)

There is a free 5x5 app that can help you with the basic workouts and handles incrementing the weight for each workout if that's something you'd be interested in

I should specify heavy heavy and not warming up properly is whatll really mess with ya. But everyone is different. Some are built to bench, some are built to squat, some to deadlift. My body style allowed me to deadlift 455 at 185 lbs bodyweight. It's leverage and technique etc. I just wanna be strong again

I should probably warm up more now that I'm getting older, even when I was younger I learned not to jump right into the heavy sets after I tore a muscle in my chest (twice), that shit hurts. I always do one lightweight warm up set now but should probably do a couple at least

Yeah I was prolly about your age when I last lifted regularly and yeah I had needed to start warming up better as well. It's weird getting to that age that you actually have to think how you're gonna move something or do something to avoid hurting yourself:rofl:
