That I like, I hate dicking around with batteries. One of my favorite flashlights is a little $2 one I got from HF that plugs into the cigarette lighter in the truck, I use that thing all the time haha.

Only considering the flux core one as something to learn with because it's $100 or around there, really don't want to drop $400+ on a mig/tig welder tomorrow especially since I have no idea what I'm doing.

Yeah, that's what I started with, just toss the HF welding wire in the trash and buy the Lincoln NR-211 at home Depot. It lays a decent weld with that and the flux tip they sell

You also dont have access to 220 so welding mig with 120 isnt as good.

See, I have no idea what I'm doing lol.

Also don't really have plans to become a 'welder' per se but it would be nice to know I can at least do or fix something small if I need to with the flux core, might pick that one up.

Flux core is awesome to learn on, low cost of entry and all the skills transfer to better welders, if you can make a nice flux core weld you'll be a king on the MIG gun

Here's hoping they have them in stock tomorrow, I have a feeling it's going to be nuts at the local HF well before they even open.

I think only the Vulcan line is worth a damn, their cheap flux core welders don’t seem to be very good.

Flux is gonna burn hotter than solid core on 120 so Id go with flux. A good once over with a wire cup on an angle grinder and you'll never know the difference between it and solid wire.

I would recommend you pickup a used quality welder like a Hobart Handler or a Lincoln. The cheapo Harbor Freight ones are fine, but I’d personally prefer to have a higher quality unit.

Also be wary those 25% coupons don’t apply to their welders. It’s in the fine print.

this is mostly just something to learn on, I've never welded before in my life. If I get a knack for it or want to up my game I would definitely get something higher quality next.

Fuck, well I'll use it to get that light @Area51Runner posted and just pay full price for the flux core. It's pretty dang cheap as it is for the kit.

If you buy a Vulcan they have coupons for just that line.
