The Lincoln unit I had was perfect for learning. Was a true MIG unit so I could learn with gas. That welder couldn’t handle 3/16ths steel which is why I upgraded to the Miller.

Good plan. I used my hand me down campbell hausfeld mig/flux 120 for a year and probably ran 10-15 lbs of wire through it before my project ideas started requiring a little more 'powa. Definetely stick to Lincoln NR211 or Hobart Fabshield HB21 for wire. A lot less splatter and just a better puddle imo.

The guy who owns the alignment shop I use, he's with one of the teams - can't remember which one now. He was invited to be part of their pit crew as head alignment tech and also responsible for one of the rear tires (changing it out). When I was in a couple of months ago, we were talking about it. He used to race one of his own cars (locally back when the region had its own 'speedway'/track. He was really jazzed about going to the 500. Have to make an appointment to go in and check the numbers since I put on the bumper. I'll find out what team he was on.

You can use anything to tow a bug, they weigh like 900 pounds.

Oh yeah, that's right! Duh!! Lots of the old ones ended up in hunting camps where there was gas, but no electric.

This was in one of the Mercs I was looking for parts in, completely mint and untouched first aid kit. All the medical supplies are still sealed.

They didn’t even charge me for it.
