No bearings! Two ribbed pulleys rotate the light assemblies while simultaneously transmitting power.

I tried lubing the shafts, adjusting the belt tensioner, but it still seizes after a few minutes. I’m stumped.

Here’s a video, maybe you can help me.

that sounds like way to tight of a belt tension honestly

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I thought the worm drive gear or spur gear might be cracked and splitting when tension is applied causing it to jam

Hmmm that might be dependent on your wheels too.

With spacers these wheels are at around 3.35" BS and the 295s rubbed the frame

Even if I completely remove the belt tensioner, it still does it.

I just know my 255’s scrub a bit and 285’s would hit quite a bit more, hoping spacers would fix that for the most part

The two drivebelts on my vintage Code 3 XL lightbar become too tensioned and seizes the worm drive motor after a few minutes, which in turn no longer drives the light rotator assemblies.

I'm looking for a fender to cut a hole in. I don't want to ruin the fender on the truck. 5-Lug fender is narrower than the PreRunner/4x4 ones, so that won't work.

OEM is the way to go for aftermarket body panels unless they're certified, @eon_blue can attest to the fitment of aftermarket fenders.

why would you think you'd ruin it? haven't had one person fck up install yet in that snorkel thread. even if you kind of burn it a bit, there is still a ton of coverage from the snorkel itself. I actually ended up enlarging the hole slightly to bring it back a bit since my template was a bit wonky - in other words, I fcked up lining up the template. not an issue and not noticeable at all.

just drill the thing and get that snorkel on the truck, you'll love the results once its installed. Have a couple of beers to kill your overthinking and just drill the hole.
