New 2nd gen frames are built in Mexico.
New 1st gen frames are from Kentucky.
Originals I have no clue. Just they’re from Dana

So Mexican manufactured using Chinese steel or US manufactured using Chinese steel (up until 2 years ago)? Pick your poison, all built to the same specs.

The steel doesn’t matter as much. Any steel will rust. The coating is what I’m worried about. Unless they decide to use 300 series stainless for frames.

I think @GQ7227 was worried about cheaper steel being used. Imo, thats a non-issue.

1/2 of all Tacomas are currently being built in Mexico, as are alot of other Toyotas.

if it wasn't so hot and muggy here I would head on down to the salvage yard where they have a 2oo1 totaled Tacoma (parked over big water puddle last time I was there), pound that frame til my arm hurts, compare it to the '95.5 I pounded on last month, ain't no love tapping going on, I mean business lol!
