I don't consider blocks to be all that bad on something as ultra light duty as a street truck especially one that's only gonna be on the street. Won't see them over flexing or destroying shocks.

Yeah but those big blocks push the leafs so low to the ground.

Granted if i slam a truck I probably would use blocks till i did something better

If you guys were going to buy a newer truck what would you buy? 2nd gen taco? Full size Chevy? Keep the taco or sell it? Just curious

I'd keep my taco but I don't use it as a daily or a truck much. I use a trailer and my 80 series but I'll likely buy a 1st gen Cummins ram when the time comes for a tow pig, they're so simple there's nothing to break.

Stuck between a AC and DC 2nd gen.

But if I could find an old grandpa with a low mileage DC 1st gen with documentation of everything, prolly that.

I don’t think I could buy a 3rd jen. Way to much money and the whole tranny thing is garbage. I would probably buy a 2nd gen if they made a long bed 6 speed. My old roomy had a 94 Cummins and after working on it with him it made me want one. (Besides the whole metric AND standard thing

I'd do the models before the 94, the 94 and up had too much daimler chrylser nonsense going on to be really reliable. Also yeah 3rd Jen trans is garbage and the engine is too high rev range for a truck. 2nd gen is very nice to drive though, even with the auto. I actually like it's auto a lot.

I wish they made 5 speeds in those. More power would be good too.

Newer one or early 2000s? I do like the looks of the new tundras but don’t they get shit for mileage?

I’ve already done a manual tranny swap and don’t think I’d do it again. Unless I got a whole new ecu and everything.
