    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    Blower motor on? the blower motor being on the same 12v rail as the AC amplifier circuit can be sensitive to speed changes caused by voltage drop when the AC kicks on and off. If it is the cause of your rattle it could be blower speed/load dependant.

    just a couple crusty spot on top of drivers rail
    i think when I hose it in the winter I sprayed salty krap up under the bedliner part that is over the rail
    no other explanation for crusty there and not much anywhere else with all of that bare ass metal

    I didn't see your picture. Did it look something like the one I bought that had a cover likely since new:
