    Not even that. Just a little buffing and it was like it never happened! While I was doing it, I could wipe fries on the rust and they never tasted better.

    It's been about 2 yrs. That was the first 1st gen truck I bought. It was a total rust bucket. Pretty much every body panel (except doors) looked like that pic. It still runs great and I definitely learned some body work skills fixing it up.

    BMW seats, OME Suspension, CBI and NWTI plates front and rear, 13,000 winch, LED light bars, Ham Radio, topper with roof rack added, stainless exhaust, 2nd battery, inverter, sound deadener
    Easy Off Oven Cleaner, except on anything painted. At your own risk, but I've been doing it for years. Only real casualty was the diagram on top of the fuse box. YMMV

    Actually, I just stuck some aluminum sheet on from the bottom side for a backer plate, and then filled in with fiberglass. Sanded it semi-smooth. I was putting the liner back in anyway, so I wasn't worried about appearance.

    i am trying to remember a guy I hung with in 2oo1-2oo3 before he got married and moved away
    he had a fairly new (used to him) white 4runner then (so probably a late 90s model)
    i was the filmographer at his wedding in MN
