What kind of injectors were in it? Cheap aftermarket ones?

I have a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid I got for free from my Uncle. ~250,000 miles. Dead hybrid battery, but it works fine as a gas car. Worth about $2,000 if I went through with the transfer.

I countered with $500. If I get $500 I’m happy.

 

But that won't pay the fees to get the title to transfer it over to him...he's aware of the fees that'll have to be paid to get it legal? I guess so assuming it's such a low amount for a car but seems like it might be a headache. If I were him I'd rather give you the money you're asking for it, so you can pay the backfees and get the title to transfer it over to him nice and clean-like. If it's worth $2k in it's condition then $1500 or less is a deal regardless.

Unless he doesn't plan on registering it and just hopes to get away with running around town in a dirt cheap, illegally unregistered vehicle lol. And even then that could come back to bite you, if he gets caught and your family's name is the last one attached to it.

So long as you're able to release yourself from any liability then that's good...I dunno what that entails but if it can be done then it can be done.

I had a similar issue with a POS late 80s pickup I bought off a tweaker for $500 when I was young and dumb and thought I could get it running and legal. Didn't have the title to it or anything. Spent a couple grand trying to get it running but quickly realized it was a big mistake and put it up for sale as a parts only truck, someone from Yotatech snatched it up for a few hundred bucks. Drove their full size over to my parent's house with a flat bed trailer and carted it off into the sunset, my parents were thrilled lol.

 

I thought they were stock they have the Toyota logo on them
