Yeah, that rig was amazing. It was a hiboy from Canada. Which means that it already had a body lift and it also had a galvanized body. There weren't that many made. The 400M was fully worked over by Shirrico Speed Shop in NJ. The standing joke about my rig is it would pass anything but a gas station. It's impressive seeing a rig that big smoke the tires through 3rd. Whenever a little ricer pulled up next to me at a light I'd be all smiles. My rig won that battle 90% of the time. Until it got over 80 MPH. Then those damn ricers pulled away easy because 85 MPH was as fast as that truck could go. lol

the few that I have seen at local salvage yards here, in fact there are 3 right now (just 3!) in an area nearing 1M, seem to have major structural damage, bent frame, totally wasted front end/quarterpanel collision

i am inclined to think that my town is more geared towards the detroit trucks, as there are nearly 50 of them from the late 90s in the yards last time I counted inventory online, that is why the #s are askew from what one would think.
and I certainly DO NOT see very many early 1st gens on the roads here anymore ... maybe 5 in the past several months I have spotted
i might see more if I cruise the part of town where they 'might' show up with more frequency but that would be stereotypical...

NA 7.3 was early 90s, the turbo came in 1997-03 and 03 was the start of the 6.0 which has a reputation for being unreliable due to some design flaws. The 6.0l can be saved with aftermarket parts but you're looking about about $5k for head studs/gaskets and a bullet proof egr cooler if you pay a shop to do the work

When I was 16 17 I worked at the local Yota dealership washing cars after service and pulling them in and out and at end doing lube change. There was a young tech that drove one of those hi boys and then lifted higher but it was cherrrrrry and it was red and it was the baddest Ford I'd ever and prolly still ever seen.... Besides some Broncos but yeah

But I also don't value having the latest and greatest and anytime someone says something about me driving an older vehicle it says more about them

I dont know crap about diesels, I just like how the newer Ferd superdootys look. I would never buy a new one either.
