    I'd say that's an inefficient way to use the AC, but I don't see how that hurts it other than making it run longer than it should and run up your electricity bill. But either way, I don't see how they can accuse you of doing that unless your electric bill has been sky high

    I think most people know how to use an AC the right way, it sounds like the landlord put that in there to avoid having to pay for repair
