Yeah, I would do that if it wasn't a bus transmission and massive full time t-case, it would kill my trans jack, weighs over 800lbs. Engine has to come out for my wiring harness and computer upgrade anyway, good time to reach neglected hoses and such too.

Distributor o-ring you would've replaced already so can't be that. Oil pump cover?

Oil pump cover is a possibility, I havent redyed the oil since the front started leaking. It leaks a lot less than the rear so I've ignored it thus far. We shall see when I tear it all down, I'll buy new oil cover screws and take it off to reseal. Was gonna reseal the oil cooler too just in case, and pull the damn EGR off for good

Had to make sure I could responsibly ignore it, if the oil cooler was pissing or something important I would have just fixed it.

Stop using the heavy chemicals and break out the hot water and the more mild chemicals... or at least use a degreaser you can dilute and spray in large quantities. The brake clean and engine clean shit gets overwhelmed by caked on messes.

This stuff and a weed sprayer along with some seriously stiff brushes will be your friend., careful though it burns skin, lungs, eyes and melts gloves

Is this one of those kid pranks where you stick your finger up your ass then trick your friend into sniffing it

Because I don't fall for that anymore

Heat and a flathead screwdriver own all sludge. I use a 5 gallon bucket of scalding hot water and a Home Depot spray bottle that shoots lasers. I just keep filling up the spray bottle with hot water from the 5 gallon bucket and keep spraying degreaser to melt the warmed sludge. Don’t waste your time with rags or brushes - go straight for the corners with the pick tool and then scrub the residue with brushes, green scrubby pads and then use more hot water to melt the oil off after. Think of how hard it is to wash oily pans and dishes with anything but hot water.

Didn’t he make one with a garden sprayer and mineral spirits?

Siphon gun and mineral spirits, but he cleans lots of stuff just with a screwdriver and some solvent if necessary

I like those videos. He is about as thorough as you could be. Due to my setup I had to stick to water based degreasers, but it’s gotten my whole truck clean enough to paint.

He's a good dude and a great resource. I think one of the issues of YouTube and modern home learning is lots of folks who have the capacity to learn pick the wrong sources to learn from. He's a damn good source though.
