Sounds like the motor is binding, have you opened that one up, sometimes the springs in them rust and break

 

Not a wire cable its 1/2" thick braided steel.

 

Bolt cutter should still get through it pretty quickly.

 

The one I had was a j-shift, no module, sorry bud.

 

diff actuator works in all positons? diff moves by hand? transfercase moves in all functions?... could be something with the 4WD computer, a sensor or the wiring

The add actuator is pretty important, if the the other actuators all work but the add one doesn't you'll still get a failed input

the document i sent is the EWD for his truck. it has the description (in words) of how the current flows when operations are asked of it.

 

That works too, kinda sounds like it could just be a wiring issue or a connection problem somewhere. The 4WD computers aren't exactly rocket science, mostly just 555 timers and relays haha

wiring is more likely. or a failing actuator.

 

You need to check and see if you're getting the signal from the diff actuator limit switch that it has finished engaging, the 4wd comp will not change the tcase until it recieves that signal

 

Back probe the connectors with t pins, or be crude and use a piercing probe

Those same bolt cutters are gonna cut through that chain too

There's no theft proof way of securing our tents, best we can do is keep them off the truck when not in use if possible...or make it less easy for them to take it quickly

 

The weight should deter most

 

That's what I'm banking on...though @BartMaster1234 has a tent that weighs double what mine does lol
