    Once, when I was a kid, I was drinking form one and my dad hit a bump in the car, the straw took out a nice chunk of the roof of my mouth. That was awesome.

    Seattle (not CA) "banned" them first, followed by SF (also not the state of CA). The rest of the bans are corporate.

    While I think "banning" them is overboard, it seems like not using straws is a pretty simple and easy way to reduce the amount of plastic that gets thrown away. Same with the plastic bag "ban" (although I still can get plastic bags at the grocery store - so those aren't really "banned" either...).

    Damnit, there you go again, you got my serious sciencey nerd face to show again...

    Because everything is just a basic ground trigger you could wire it into anything, but most people just unplug her. Both of my buddy's cars have bitching Betty and we just unplugged her. But going to an analog dash is harder
