1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

It's a solid plug that had enough pins and was readily available. It's just going to sense wires, nothing important, and on the stock alt it also has the wire for the v-reg sense (the Jag alt doesn't need that bull haha). I wanted to be able to swap between alts if I had to on the trail, I carry my old alt with me when wheeling

 

Is this a frame replacement through Toyota, or did you buy a frame with your excellent Toyota discount?

So it's 100% bolt on except the wiring?

What's the difference between the Jag alt, and that GM alt that uses this harness: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Alternator...121-Denso-Geo-Toyota-Oval-Style-/200850434281

 

The Jag one fits your engine and is a Denso alt that puts out 120a. It bolts in place using stock hardware and just needs the wiring adapter

 

Do they make one of those conversion harnesses for it, or do I have to fab something?

 

Unfortunately you need the opposite of this one... you need male round plug to male flat plug and no one seems to make that... so I just bought this part and made the rest myself with those trailer pieces. Works just as well it's only 5 solder connections to make both harnesses

 

Hmm so knew my truck rubs on really big bumps and jumps. But I thought it ws in the wheel well. Come to find out its on the bumper

 

my frame was replaced under warranty. the guy who did it kinda fucked it a bit.. its fixable but eh. got the dealer to pay for half of it and i had the discount.. only cost me about 1200 all said and done. old one will get fixed. but new one will go on my baby.

 

the jag one only fits the 2.4 and 2.7l though right? i cant get my self to put a GM part on my truck. a Denso part is something i trust much more..

 

No one has tried it, but the common thought is no it won't. Go ask NAPA for a alt for one and try to shove it in, maybe it'll work and everyones blowing smoke up our asses. Worst case you gotta return it

 

i'll dick with alternators when the engines back together lol. the little dinky factory one is sad.. hell my avalon has a 140 amp from the factory.

Red interior is my least favorite, but I'm building a drag vehicle so I'm not gonna be too picky. Going to look at it on my b-day!
