The guy that's making mine says he'll make a bunch more if enough 1st gen guys are interested, he just doesn't want to market it much publicly with photos because Wilco might come at him for it. Least that's what he told me lol. But he's down to make them

Nope, REI doesn't support 4x4'ing. They are all about 'on foot' outdoor travel, the owner of the company has made that clear on numerous occasions. Thats why you don't see much vehicle related stuff for sale at their stores. Kinda surprising they sell a few RTTs but they probably couldn't pass up on the trend

Thought I remembered a thread on here awhile back where REI was in support of OHV closures too

Yeah that's probably why they sell some of the Yakima RTTs (which are crap from what I've read)...there's some overlap between the backpackers/hikers and the offroad community.

You know those 2 issues can be fixed rather easily lol

The real issue being that shipping would be killer unless maybe you did it via greyhound or fastenal
