@Kwikvette @JKO1998 @BartMaster1234 I forget who else wanted to see the pic

This was the test fitting to make sure the frame of it fit the way it should, fits perfectly. He's gonna weld it up this week and add the tire holder, hopefully have it ready by this weekend or early next week.

It's definitley heavier than my stock tailgate without the tire holder or tire on it lol, I see an add a leaf in my future. Which is probably for the best since I need to take them off to fix my rear thrust angle and add some shims anyhow.

Forgot to take a pic of the swingout open but it swings out just wide enough that the tent will clear it when it's opened up, so no issues there.

I'm not sure because I'm getting it for less since I'm the guinea pig....the Wilco one was about $600 so if I had to guess it would be about that much. Right now what I'm paying is still just an estimate until he's completed it, when I pick it up I'll ask him what he thinks it will cost to make more for people that are interested.

Hmm. How many overland points is it worth?

10 as is, but the more overland swag you mount to it the more the points exponentially increase

Hmm. I think marketing this should be simple. And added doo dads can make it more profitable

50 points at least if you powdercoat it, but I'm just going to rattle can it. Maybe do a bedliner coating without much texture, not sure yet.

All I need is a spare with a spot for a gas/water can

yeah he's putting the tire mount off to the right so you can put a gas can holder next to it on the left.

Only thing I'm worried about with that is the weight, since full jerry cans are heavy AF combined with an E rated 33" tire. But that's why I'm the guinea pig I guess lol.

If it seems like it needs it he can fabricate another mount for it into the bedsides. Right now it utilizes 3 of the 4 holes per side

I’d probably tie it in to the bed bolt somehow would triangulate and make it pretty fucking stout

The bolt the bed mounts with. I don’t remember how close to the center of the end they are

@eon_blue would you say the tiregate is twice as heavy as your tail gate?

That's how mine felt without a tire, but of course I'm just guessing since I never weighed the thing.

Btw, love the shelf you've got for your maxtrax.

Yeah I would say so, with the tire on it it's gonna be over twice the weight for sure. And weight hanging off the end like that behind the axle is really gonna sag the leaf springs

Now you just need a tube bumper to match o_O

yeah I'm not so much a fan of my rear bumper any more, it's served me well the last 2 years and I got it from a kid on TW that was making them for a short time for only $125. But I need something that offers more protection. I was actually thinking of talking with the guy making my tiregate swingout about possibly fabricating some wrap around tubes that could be welded to this bumper.
