Your state is gonna have beater killer gas soon, things older than 2001 are not gonna like the E15 you guys voted to introduce. I think E10 will still be around too, but the average person might not know to look out for it.

Yeah, it's okay here but I don't chance it especially with the high humidity levels right now. Ethanol is hygroscopic and picks up water molecules as it lingers.

 

for having a refinery in almost my backyard, our gas is shit here. i have to drive 1 hour to get ethanol free

 

It's gonna be cheaper and ethanol fuel has less harmful emissions. But mostly just to subsidize corn growth for absolutely no reason. Either way, E15 is out of tuning range for lots of stuff, gotta run a lot more of it since ethanol is less volatile than gasoline and many injection systems wont have the extra headroom

 

i can tell you right now these trucks dont take well to it. hell my 06 avalon doesnt like it, and thats a pretty modern injection system

 

I don't know of any refineries in WA, I'm sure there's at least one. Our gas is almost as cheap as Idaho's where I live and I have an ethanol free pump very close, only like a mile

 

lol i get a 30 cent increase in price if i drive 10 minutes into illinois. BP has a massive refinery near me

 

Gas is like 30 cents more in Vernal than it is in SLC, and then WY is like 30 cents cheaper than SLC

e15 is more resistant to burn. these old cars are not designed to run on it. it kills fuel mileage and performance

 

I explained it earlier. Ethanol has a different stoichiometic point. The car tunes for it wrong because it doesn't understand that it is less volatile fuel

ok now explain to me how to diagnose a can bus system short.

 

I'm excited the Z (after the new ECU) will be the first thing I've owned with CAN bus. So many peripherals you can run with just those two wires.

 

its a neat system. absolute nightmare to deal with sometimes. but a simple system when you dont overthink it.

dealing with a BEAN system toyota use to use was more of a pain in my opinion

We dont fuck with can bus. We use different systems for monitoring and controlling. Well i guess it is a Can system. It uses a single controller to monitor and control every aspect of the system.

I have something similar to this and almost never use it, but it's nice to have.

 

I have the OTC one. and i have an OLD toyota breakout box. like 90s old but the otc is what i use obviously
