My brakes are making a terrible rubbing sound lately ever since I had that issue where the caliper bolt was loose and leaking...don't really know what's going on (they feel/brake just fine but make that terrible sound especially when cold). I just replaced the rotors and pads a couple months ago.

Thinking I should just replace the front and rear lines and bleed the system and see where that leaves me. Got my steel front lines coming in next week.

I dont think steel lines are effective if you only replace say the rear i think you have to replace all the lines for it to really work

I would wait to do it all at the same time. Bleeding breaks is kinda a pita so if you can only do it once i would do that

    hmm good point.

(when it rains it pours) I still have the clunking coming from the rear springs despite repeatedly checking the torque on every bolt I worked on since installing the AALs. Only thing I can think of is that maybe I didn't get the front leaf spring hangar bolts pushed all the way through when I torqued them down. Gonna loosen both tonight and try to push/screw the bolts through further and see if that solves it; I know from past experience that if there's any play in the front hangars then the leaf packs 'pop' like crazy. If not, then it's gotta be something with the packs themselves. I know the center bolts are tight so I'll be at a loss if tonight's attempt doesn't remedy it.

Between that and brakes, my truck sounds like a bucket of hard objects rattling around whenever I hit a bump in the road or take a turn at speed.

Do your Icons have spherical bearings or rubber bushings. When spherical bearings go out they sound like marbles in a blender haha

not sure I'll have to check, they're still relatively new (~15k miles on them) so I'd be a bit surprised, but I've heard worse from other people with Icons lol.

yeah to some extent I just live with some of the noises I hear, I get that it comes with the territory when you're changing everything from stock and beating up on your truck nearly every weekend. But these noises coincide directly with the recent work I did, which is what has me worried. I guess if I go through everything and can't find anything wrong, I'll feel better about living with it. I've had noises come and go that seemed to basically remedy themselves in the past but I don't want to rely on that without first going through everything lol.

When I had my leafs a part I sprayed them down with a healthy amount of grease-free, dirt-repellant lubricant to prevent the squeaking from coming back that I had before...wonder if maybe all that lube between them is making them prone to slipping a bit...enough to make some noise. Guess it's one possibility if I can't find anything wrong.

alright, just ordered the Trail Gear BPV relocation kit...since the rear is sitting even higher now I should probably factor that into my brake issue possibilities, at the very least it'll help with my braking. Will put that on with the brake lines hopefully next weekend.

At least it's like two bolts and a tiny stud on 5 lugs.
