Dealers are fine for routine maintenance, or even large jobs on newer vehicles. But a headgasket or similar job on a 30 year old engine that most techs there have never worked on? No way. A lot of the techs at the dealer that did the work are young dudes straight out of school. They primarily work on new stuff, so when an older vehicle comes in needing a large job done, no wonder it got messed up.

90% of the techs I work with will not work on older cars. It’s me and one other guy that does them.

My favorite part of 22RE ownership is having to show the newb techs or lube monkeys how to access the oil filter. Cant even figure that part out lol.

Lol. It’s not even that bad... it’s the same spot as the newer rz engines and tr engine. Just without it facing up/down

The air intake prevents you from getting it at the top, the diff prevents you from getting it at the bottom. Only way I know to get it is through the wheel well.

In a rack I’ve managed to get them from the bottom. But wheel well is best way. Same goes for the 2tr (albeit easier underneath, but messier

I used to get my 3rz filter from behind the tire, going up beside the cats with a strap wrench. Then I started using a claw type filter tool on a long 3/8 extension/ratchet going up directly underneath it. Works pretty good.

    Thor: The Dark World
    Captain America: The Winter Soldier
    Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
    Avengers: Age of Ultron
    Ant-Man
    Captain America: Civil War
    Spider-Man: Homecoming
    Doctor Strange
    Black Panther
    Thor: Ragnarok

Well that’s why I was stuck in traffic for half an hour getting into the city. Street car broke down and a light rail was towing it.

Plus a ball game us Double whammy.

I'll add it up after the movie; I've yet to see Far From Home either but I have seen the rest in the movies.

Would be nice to own them all; been buying each one as I watch them.

The last time I had a bearing/seal done on the 99 the dude said the people that did it before did something wrong and it tore up the axle a little bit :notsure:.

I was thinking get throes axles and have them for the next time my seals pop.

Just buy brand new Chromoly ones, they’re only $120-$140. If you’re having new bearings pressed in I wouldn’t do it on an unknown set of axles.
