Why didn’t you just buy a 4x4 to begin with?

Oh dude. That crank pulley bolt on that Honda did NOT want to come off on that ‘93 Civic I did the timing belt on. My 1/2 just hammered it all the live long day. I don’t remember how I ended up getting it off.

$5k initial cost was a hell of a lot easier to get away with for a "camping only" truck vs $10k 4x4's around here.

That and it left me with mod money to do what I want with the truck; #tiregateclub

How’d you come across my 4x4 swap?

The same reason they used some JIS fasteners and some philips. To screw with you.

I pulled a 3.4 airbox out of a yard a few months back and I almost paid for a maf I didnt need cause I stripped the stupid JIS screws with my phillips driver. Thankfully the dude at checkout got it out, otherwise I wasnt gonna pay the $30 extra or whatever it was when the box itself only cost $20 or so.

Was looking at the differences of Locked TRD Prerunners vs non-locked 4x4's and accidently came across a thread where you did the swap.

Seeing as how everything is bolt on, and I've wrenched a lot on my Corvettes, the swap would be cake.

I just hate how others label 4runner/Tundra stuff as stuff from a Tacoma leading me to look at front diffs with the wrong gear ratio, or wrong transfer cases/transmissions.

I wonder how much torque is lost through using a standard socket? Didn't mention in video did it?

There’s special sockets for them crank bolts that use mass to help force the bitch off.

The upper screw in my grab handle is stripped and I can never get it out because it was JIS. I tried to drill it out and failed.

What makes a e-torx better than hex on the diff in regards of torque?

E torx give more accurate torque readings than 6 pint hex. Trade off is more likely to strip

So then follow up question to Tyler's; in places where you've seen e-torx used, were those areas sensitive to torque values more than others?
