Must be easier in UT, in WA it's a lottery and out of staters don't have a snowballs chance

Diffs aren't picky 75-140 is probably fine if it doesn't get cold. The tcase is picky and I didn't wanna eat up 5 bottles of 75-90 on a diff (6.99 a piece, when the tcase can use it) when I can get a 4qt jug of 80-90 for 12.99 and that's what the diffs call for (for whatever reason, I'm sure you could put 75-90 or 80-140)

Apparently you know something the Washington Fish and Game don’t.

I will say though, most OTC tags do not have very good odds of success, but many tag out every year.

I've decided for the diffs I'm just gonna get the cheap Supertech 75w90 stuff from Wally World going forward, gear oil prices at the auto parts stores are getting out of hand near me. Since the diffs just take regular non synth anyway. I'll spend the money saved on the good stuff for the trans though

Huh, well I guess I am wrong then. I don't hunt, don't see the point really, so I'm not up on it. But my former neighbor and his brother (a TN resident) used to bitch about the lottery process, maybe they weren't hunting in WA. Do you know of a state that does a lottery for Elk, I know that's what they were after.

Yeah I've noticed the same. They only carry synth stuff for $13+ a quart, which is ridiculous when Super Tech for $6 will do a dandy job

I was just at Pep Boys yesterday and Lucas, Royal Purple, Mobil1 and Peak were all $15 - $20 a quart for synththetic 75w90. Fortunately the regular non synth is cheaper but it's still expensive.

Wally World carries Pennzoil for way cheaper too (and Toyota oil filters now) so I'm just going to go there to get fluids from now on

Synthetics are a complete waste in differentials and transfercases without viscous AWD. Not enough heat generated

Most states have a lottery for elk too. Montana is 100% lottery but a lot of units have a 100% chance of draw, even for out of staters.

Yeah NC started auctioning off a whopping 12 or so elk tags per year a few years back. A few thousand hunters apply, 12 get tags. Which is no gaurantee they'll find an elk.

Thats just the license fee. Tags are usually auctioned or very expensive up front.

Yea it's too expensive for me, but it would be cool to take the taco cross country and bring back a giant elk that fills the bed lol
