Toyota FIPG is all i use... hell i used the FIPG black on my mother ford... because the ford shit leaks

The right stuff is pretty good, not super flexible but it holds up well enough. I like ultra grey for most things or things with gear oil but green is also a good choice in that case too, the toyota red fipg is really the most ideal for trans pans.... motor oil contact stuff or stuff with rubber or silicone typically gets black or if its a gasket or planed surface that needs to remain flexible to function blue hylomar is the best (also okay with mild fuel contact)..... this is a subject that goes forever but by the end of it you have a thousand half used tubes of various viscous nonsense and zero nozzles to apply it with. But at least once you master it none of your shit will leak. Oh and on paper gaskets Permatex High Tack Spray a gasket is the shit, usually a replacement for coating a paper gasket in RTV on waterpump or intake jobs... Sometimes indian head gasket coating (can you tell that is an old name) is good for that too.

 

If it didn't cost an arm and a dick to us non techs I'd use it for a lot of things too, it's pretty versatile. Hondabond is a cheaper alternative and likely the same shit

@Speedytech7 tylers noise sounds like tires yes? sounds like scrubbing while driving straight.. and it happens to be the same side he replaced the tie rod on... teach him the finer points of alignments.

 

Well then that clears it up, you'll likely get a physical check when your manager realizes theres an extra leftover, or if you get them mailed on a payday. The first one never has enough time for the DD systems to catch up which sounds like BS but after working with PAYCHEX it actually is a problem

 

Yeah I thought it was tires, certainly not a typical bearing or metallic rubbing noise

 

Then theres a physical check somewhere, that's always the fallback, check that you didn't fudge your home address or that your manager doesn't have a check floating around their office for you

Yeah, his alignment has been dicked for a while too, so if it was the opposite direction before the tierod change it would be worse now.

After I did my tie rods I went there just for a toe and go/get my steering wheel straight and they couldn't even do that.
