Who was that hillbilly dude in here. I need to figure out how to get raccoons to fuck off.

i had one come into my yard as me and my friends were in the yard. Then it came back later and my dog chased it off.

now i go out this morning and my garbage can is knocked over and trash everywhere

In the Cruiser world if we didn't feel like seperating the halves to grease the splines, the trick was to squeeze a bunch of grease in there through the zerk and then remove that zerk. Then drive over a curb slowly or anything to get the shaft to compress out any extra grease that would have been applying to much pressure. Clean off the extra grease, reinstall zerk and be at ease with no clunk and no excessive hydrostatic pressure pushing against the t-case or diff pinion bearings:D:cool: I imagine you're spins something similar... Unless you got creative and are using the needle adapter to somehow get past the felt seal on the splines?

You've got it there bud. Though after fulling the tube, I remove the zerk and fish a piece of mechanics wire up through the hole to pull out some of the extra grease before doing the compression bounce so there is less mess. The grease is thick and holds up to 500F so it doesn't melt and run out.

when i was a lubeTech at JL in the early '90s it was standard practice to tell the customer upon checkout how many fittings were greased
i cannot recall the last time the Toyota service check out informed me how many they did on my Tacoma!

You're missing a part if it does that. Usually they just pump up like a hydraulic cylinder and I've actually had mine lift the back of the truck.

Something something great minds something something:D:cool: that's interesting about the needle adapter getting the grease from the outside, past the felt seal, and then to apply grease in the right spot. That's pretty slick man

We had an indoor/outdoor tuxedo cat until she passed away at 17 years that would attack anything that came into the yard. She was a barn cat that grew up around and eating with hunting hound dogs so she really had no fear of any animal unless it was 3 or 4 times her size.

She would kill or run off raccoons, possums, rats, snakes, you name it.
One of the best watch dogs we ever had. We've noticed that female cats are more protective of their territory than males.

Not sure how you've got grease to come out past the splines? Unless you don't have that felt seal?

That pressure from the grease trapping the air and not being able to escape is what can cause excessive force. After greasing you can also cycle the suspension to cycle the shaft and then use a pick or small screwdriver to push in the little spring loaded ball in the zerk. This will also relieve excessive pressure

lubricating all zerks is proper driveshaft maintenance?

Freaking awesome man. There really isn't a better solution to mice problem or even ensuring you don't get mice problem than having a cat that likes mouse. Cats are waaaaay cooler than I ever knew growing up
