and now my truck needs the biggest of all maintenance and for the life of me cannot find a suitable professional with knowledge, proper equipment and reasonable estimate that is agreeable

had there been found a professional out there locally this would be done by now instead of another probably 4 to 6 months to personally complete 'weather' and I could confidently drive it again in the winter without issue :(

most of it, not all, with FF but a lot has washed off already under experiment, it still feels 'wet' but I am waiting for flash rust
so far this fall they have not thrown down chemicals here, the light snow flurries we had melted upon contact with the pavement and temps only reached the upper 20s

i was checking out the current thread about fixing the rotted rocker panels, i don't have any issue there (yet) but found a ton of stripped off undercoating with exposed metal behind them

maybe the FF sprayed on the old brittle coating will soften it up so it can all come off and redo it

have to also check the bed for rust inside the wheel wells from the same thread topic, a PA tacoma, and figure out if there is concern or not there

flash rust from plain old water/moisture on naked steel
waiting for it to get behind the FF that has wore off and the zinc phosphate coating i put on the freshly blasted steel to see how durable that stuff is
flash rust is very orangeish in color it seems

I guess the weird part is I'm not mad or upset about the injector failures. I knew I was taking a risk when I bought those injectors, as it were. So I tried to mitigate the risk by sending them off testing before installation. Then two came back as under performers. That's the point where I should have pitched the whole set.

Mostly, I'm just amazed at the extreme differences that came up in a relatively short amount of time.

That's nuts that they actually melted and deformed. I haven't run into anything straight up counterfeit like that. Poor quality, sure, I see it all the time. But that's straight up deception of the worst kind man. That's BS. But glad it was a relatively easy fix and not a surprise to you as you had already possibly expected something to pop up

Here's a picture of my first injector and rail restoration from 9 years ago. The engine still runs like new. Its just a crying shame that the car is approach 29 years old.
