This is true, the catch for me though is I'd have to switch careers to live in anything other than a big city. Doing that is gonna take some time to figure out what needs to be done to get there without starting at minimum wage someplace.

There are way cheaper big cities to live in up here. You literally have nowhere to go that could be worse than where you are. Pretty much every big City anywhere else will be cheaper with the exception of New York

 

Just as long as you're ok with some more scratches

I do too actually. I buy them to put on instead of worm clamps, worm clamps just scream I got my automotive knowledge from a Facebook page.

2 big cities that are really cheap to live in; a 4 bedroom 3 bath house, 1700-2100sq/ft that's less than 15 years old will run you in the $250k range.

 

If things keep going the way they are here at work I might be able to save up enough in a couple more years to move and take my time figuring out what I wanna do, which would be an ideal situation. As long as we get out of the big city and further north, that's the goal.

One place we're considering is Grass Valley which is about an hr east of Sacramento, near the Sierras foothills. Wife is from there, really small mountain town and close to Tahoe. That's probably as close to Sac as I'd want to be, been there several times and its not a big improvement over LA lol. Weather wise and crowded concrete jungle wise.

Yep I've been to Grass Valley.

I only know that place cause this chick I dated years back was dating me another guy that was from there; she started getting too clingy and so I put some distance between us only for her to tell me she has this other guy

No, I didn't go up there to kick his ass or anything lol it's all I remember from that town though.

 

It's a one horse town which as a kid I would have hated but as an adult, it sounds like heaven to me lol.
Ideally we'd go further north out of CA but that puts us farther from family. Although my dad is retiring to Eugene OR in a few years

 

Give it a few years up there and you'll have an old Cummins or Powerstroke, some livestock on the farm, and flannel pajama's drinking moonshine while out in the front yard.
