    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

That may be true. I gave up looking. The balance shop said my double cardin was fine, so I figured there was no need to continue the search.

Not saying you did a bad job at all brotha... Just giving another perspective. @Kwikvette seems to have a bit of mechanical experience, and it seems that he'll probably have more help than you did.

A lot of the ones that live in the rust belt are long gone. That said rust isn't picky, knowledge for any other vehicle applies.

Have done quite a bit of work so I'm mechanically inclined (from spark plugs and optispark on LT1 and LT4 motors to lending a hand on a 7MGTE swap in my old Cressida and everything in between). Those spark plugs behind the exhaust manifold are the biggest bitch in the world...solved by long tubes but LT's are illegal in CA.

I love that the Tacoma is easy to work on and everything is damn near mechanical; I just don't have the accommodations I used to have nor the "helper" tools such as a transmission jack, or even a garage.

Since the Tacoma has become a daily driver, my biggest race will be time.

There are zero 1st gens east of the Mississippi River. I actually drive a Mitsubishi pickup. The last 1st gens rotted out 15 years ago around here.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

That whole thing went down dumb. When we were talking about it in the NorCal thread, I hope you know I was just looking out for YOU (still think 4.88s are too tall for your 31s)

Some of the resident slap dicks in that thread apperantly think I was being an asshole, but that was not my intention. I just didn't want you to get in over your head... I could see how that could potentially go sideways on you.

I did want those gears... but that was not my motivation... and I didn't want them at your expense.

Those 4.88s would have been absolutely perfect in his truck

You change the heater control color too when you did yours? Seems the faceplate thing itself has to be altered to get the orange film off. Or buy a clear one from a 4Runner.
