I need a head unit that has bluetooth audio and hands free calling for the Taco and the Lexus. Debating about just going with a cheap traditional din or spending more for a touchscreen headunit... thinking about going cheap since I don't really need fancy features in either

the lexus currently has the factory HU with a 3.5mm cord soldered to the L/R traces on its board. that works but is inconvenient

that actually doesn't sounds too bad on paper, but never seen u drive it so I can't say. Glad to hear u got ur gears done, what was the main difference with upgraded gears? cycle through gears faster (like they run thru their rpms in each gear faster), and more pep at RPM's from prior? Never re-geared so this will be my first with the taco

TBH I cant even see shit on my headunit and i'm happy I went with a burner pioneer single din bc I did consider a fancy one. I would go with a single din, but its up to u. I always refer to my phone mounted to my windshield for everything. The clock on the taco is blocked by my steering wheel, and can only read the headunit if I stare for a min, or it's nighttime; even with the colors of the unit set to a bright white

Thinking about picking up this one for the Lexus and possibly the Tacoma if I like it

$80 for the HU plus install kits seems solid

Solid scoop right there. super easy to install, just make sure u crimp everything up nicely. I hated going back to fix mine; I tried to install during the Az summer at 110 degrees and got too hot and electric taped the connections together at first from frustration :rofl: But, the pioneer units have served me well. Was able to set up the crossover nicely with the stock speakers and tbh it sounds better than the infinity speakers that came stock in my old ram prior

Big difference on the trail, for sure.

On the street just imagine only having your current 2,3, and 4th to use.

With the bigger tires 5th was pretty much unusable and starting in 1st required a abuse of the clutch

That makes sense, do mph shift points change with a regear? If the regear is accurate enough you can still do 80 85 on the highways right?

uhhh I haven't thought about it enough to be able to tell you... with 5.29s the shift points are a little more aggressive than I'm used to because of how deep the gears are in comparison

But yes, I should be able to do 80 albeit at 3500~ RPM or so. I haven't taken the truck past 65. I need a better wheel and tire setup to be comfortable with that

Hmm sweet that isn't too high of RPM's in hindsight of how high the gearing is. I just have the I10/i17 here in az which the speed limit is 75 so everyone goes 85, and don't wanna lose that ability with a regear. Thanks for the info, sorry to pick your brain lol

Damn that's crazy, glad to hear he's okay. that would be a great junkyard find then for parts since it was about to be sold and was in good condition likely
