I'm staying away from those. They're spotty at best on quality, seems the extruded pipes in the cores are really thin even compared to a stock style third party rad.

I'm really bad about documenting what I've done/need to do...I started keeping a notepad in the backseat so I could write things down as I do them. Wasnt an issue remembering when all I did myself was oil changes but these days it gets hard to remember at what mileage I did what unless I write it down.

Not to mention if I ever do sell the truck someday it won't look great if I'm asked for maintenance records/history and all I can say is 'don't worry I took care of it all'

Looking over the thread in the 1st gen area, definitely seems some have run into issues.

With all the negative reviews that have popped up on here regarding those I would stay clear of them.

I've been trying to log maintenance and installs to toyota's owner zone. This way at least if I ever do sell it, they can see somewhat of a history looking at the VIN on toyota's site. Hardcopy record... pfft. I wish and really should start. As for the last 15 years, its going to be "I took care of it all".

If you don’t need maintenance you don’t need a log

I've installed two into Zs and one into a Bimmer. They're cheap auto parts, the same Cambodian kids are making the discount ones off eBay too in the same factory. The one in the Z is actually a champion from a wholesale brand that was on RockAuto for a while. It was $62, and I've been lucky with it so far, but it looks like Ray Charles welded it with his feet and it's light AF haha. Keeps her cool as can be. We will see how long it lasts, or maybe not if I sell the car in spring haha.

This white truck is the first I've ever had that came with records, and they go all the way back to 1999. But I've never seen lack or records decrease value, just makes it so you have to haggle a bit more during the sale, where as the records can sometimes make the guy go, "eh okay"

I don’t think that was a maintenance issue.

On one hand I think 'oh I'll just refer them to TW and my post history' but then I remember all the crap I've complained about and realize they probably shouldn't see all of that

I kept receipts for all of the parts I put on the Z. I don't dare add those up, but maybe it'll show the next guy I really cared, hell it wouldn't be on the road still if it weren't for me.
