    I have mods
I use the cheapy pads from whatever auto parts store. They do help prevent corrosion but the best thing you can do to prevent it is maintain a good electrical system. I have seen pads WITH corrosion still happening and that's when you want to put some kind of corrosion inhibitor on the terminals. The spray on red stuff specifically for battery terminals is messy but works good.

Yeah, auto parts store should have it. FF should be fine, just messy.

i am going to have to change that battery for them in the 2nd gen, its original stock and nearly 9 years old!
put some pads and red spray on it then

i am surprised that battery is still working as much blueish corrosion was onit

if i put those on my taco i would have near immediate LBJ failure i think

a 2nd gen guy in Chicagoland evaluated a pic of them online and said they look 0k still at 132k miles
have spray gel and FF all over them currently

If @Speedytech7 convinced him to buy a red sports car, my money is on a Z.

    I would've suggested a Z as well having owned 2 Z31's and 2 Z32's.

They seem to be sorta cheap to own and build so perfect for a college kid I guess.

Not TT Z32's; here they're either trashed like a mother or the asking price is over $11k easily.

Fortunately when I picked up the one TT I owned, the fix was simple as the hoses to the turbo kept popping off and it needed new vacuum lines. Fixed the 'running like shit' issue.

For the Z31's, those VG motors just need a timing belt done sooner than later. That and the 2 I had suffered from electrical gremlins which are due to cut wires (stereo install, etc?), the voice over system, and other odds and ends.

Yeah. By a lot. It cost me $400 to tow my truck from San Francisco to my home only 30 miles.

Maybe, maybe not. I could see it seeming like that when you do very little work on cars. But you do enough for yourself and for other people and you'll come across enough broken stuff right out of the box. I have a tough time bringing myself to do sloppy work so I check everything first as best as I can. I'm really not a fan of doing the same job twice in a row. And if it's a part that can break other parts in a system then I'm really not a fan of just saying "Eh it'll be fine". You know how I work, why are you surprised.
