Good thing you brought that up, I've got a question for you all.

I pay for Dish at my house, and because I don't want to leave my father in law without service, I'm going to keep it active and pay it.

With that being said, I'd hate to take on another monthly expense of cable/dish again at the new place.

My use is really "something on in the background, that's just playing without me having to look up a show or choose anything" to fill the lonely silence at home

A streaming service like Netflix means I'll have to choose a show or something and play it.

What about those firesticks or w.e.? How are they different? Do they fill the need? Or just stick to Netflix and Hulu?

When I was a kid I delivered medical supplies/coolers to medical places throughout central California. Used to get away with speeding all the time cause it was important stuff I guess. It's also how I got the chicken pox at 18 and almost died. Well not really but it was a terribly uncomfortable month.

I dunno how those fire sticks work, but I agree with cutting the cord on cable and all that...life is so much easier with streaming and cheaper (generally), unless you subscribe to every streaming service under the sun.

We just use Apple TV so you have the one time purchase of the Apple TV unit (not to be confused with the service Apple TV Plus that costs monthly)...then you just watch whatever streaming services you do pay for via the Apple TV.

I pay for Prime and my wife pays for Netflix...between those 2 most of our needs are covered. If I want to watch something on HBO for a few months I can pay for the HBO channel on Prime until the show is over, same with any other pay per view channel since they're all available through prime

Ooof yeah I've heard that if you get chicken pox as an adult it's 100 times worse than if you get it as a kid. I got it at 3 years old and I remember it vividly because we were supposed to go to Disneyland that day lol.

Yep Amazon prime, they have tons of great tv shows and movies...probably 75% of what I watch is on Prime or channels I get through Prime and Netflix accounts for the rest. The Witcher is on Netflix though

    Oof

Yeah there are 2 different types of gun buyers - 1 pays you're asking, and is just grateful that you have what they're looking for, and even more that you're an enthusiast and can appreciate how well you took care of said firearm. 2 is Mr. How much off? Even though you're right at the lowest you'll take, they still have the audacity to ask again about getting it for less even though money is going to exchange hands at that moment.

I feel like those are the two types of buyers you meet for almost anything haha. I've sold several truck related things and that description sums up the 2 types of people I've dealt with too.

I'm definitely the latter, I rarely ask if someone can go lower than their listed price unless the listed price is unusually high for what it is.

Some people though are never satisfied unless they feel they've gotten a massive bargain on everything, I hate dealing with that when selling something

It amazes me how much money people spend on their cars/trucks and they don't even own them or keep them long enough to own.

    You're right.

In a text or two you can usually weed people out.

So check this, I just remembered about 2 transactions over 4-5 years ago.

    1. I drove out passed San Jose (over an hour and a half each way) to meet someone to sell one of my rifles. We show up at the set time, and go inside the FFL to perform said transaction. Come to find out, the buyer, who was only 20 mins away (30 if you included traffic, and I was on a time crunch) didn't have all his necessary paperwork to perform the transfer.

Now, having wasted my time, and having forced me to carry a firearm in my car longer than I intended (I had plans to go somewhere right after), you forced me to be in an uncomfortable situation. I was kind enough to brush the whole thing off, and bid him farewell.

I'm making my drive back and if I remember, about half hour in he texts me "I just got home to get my paperwork, we can still do the transfer". I kindly refused as I've spent too much time already, but thank you for trying. Added something along the lines of "if you'd like, you can come to an FFL close to me". Well, I got home later that day only to get texts asking if I'd meet up with him out there again and how I should sell it to him cause he messaged me first on the forum etc.

The fucking nerve of the guy; and to top it off he posted on my for sale thread about not wanting to sell him my rifle!

I know a lot of people on the forum personally, and have nothing but positive feedback so it was w.e.

    2. I met with someone selling me either a Dragonuv or Saiga...I forget. We met at an FFL near his place of work to make it easy on the seller only to find out, the FFL was 'full' and not accepting for private party. Sucks too because we called around a few other shops and all said the same. I gave the guy money to fill his gas tank, apologized for the inconvenience, and left him alone for good. Then I thought back to the guy that pissed me off and wondered...what the fuck...and got pissed off at that buyer all over again

I get the background TV all night thing. I'm a cheap skate, I'm not cheap, I despise using my money unwisely
For the background thing, local TV channels in super hi def are free.99 with an antenna. I get like 30 channels in HD just over the air by antenna. Then Prime video or Hulu or Netflix or whatev. Get the Hulu password from a friend, unlimited logins with it :D

It might have even been fine. These trucks sweep the vanes in the turbo at idle to mitigate the soot build up from sticking them in place

It will sound like a big old v8 when on one end of the sweep and a jet on the other

You could hear it on a stock truck if the DPF and SCR didn't kill all the noise
